Gundam Series Animator, Kunihiro Abe Has Passed Away

The news of grief came back from the anime industry some time ago. After the famous animator Kunihiro Abe reportedly passed away at the age of 50. This news was conveyed by his wife Misao Abe and his daughter Ayumi Abe. Where both of them reported the sad news through their Twitter account by uploading the Gundam Barbatos artwork made by Kunihiro.


Ayumi, who is her daughter, also told stories even though she often quarreled and felt jealous of her father. But she knew that he loved his job as an animator. Since debuting as an animator for the past few decades. Kunihiro is known to be very dedicated and even feels like he can’t live without this job.


For those of you who are still unfamiliar with the figure of Kunihiro, he is a veteran animator who has done a lot of Gundam anime series. Some of them themselves range from Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: The Afterglow of Zeon, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Operation Meteor, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed CE73: Stargazer, Mobile Suit Gundam 00 to Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. As can be seen, Gundam has indeed become a part of Kunihiro’s life while undergoing his beloved career.


Kunihiro himself also worked on several other anime series such as Bubblegum Crisis, Dangaioh, Vampire Princess Miyu, Dragon Century to Record of Lodoss Wae: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight. Working alongside legendary animator Yoshiyuki Tomino. He also received high praise from his outstanding work and can combine many scenes between humans and mecha.
